You have lots to do on a sunny day but what on a rainy day?
Here are a few inexpensive ways to have fun indoors
* Visit the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum 75 North Water St, Poughkeepsie at the waterfront, near the train station. This museum offers hands on fun, plus exhibits that focus on the arts and sciences. For your active ones- there is a rock climbing wall, a simulated dive bell that takes kids underwater, a prentend doctors office, a play scape of the hearts and lungs. There are sensory things like a water table and much more. Open Tuesday thru Sundays &6.50 for adults and kids.
* You could go to the movies or better yet the theatre.
The center for performing arts at rhinebeck ( http://centerforperformingarts.org) at 661 Route 308 in Rhinbeck has an inexpensive Saturday morning family series of shows for kids at 11:00 am. Call 845 876-3080 for reservations ans more info.
** Go roller skating WOOD N"WHEEL a huge roller rink in Port Ewen at 365 Route 9W Ulster park. They rent skates. Lots of games and a climbing wall and bumper cars. Call 845 331-9680
***Monster golf is never fun if you have not gone go on a rainy day ( it's a bit expensive) but worth it.
